Amvic ICF Building System Training Classes

Amvic-Pacific offers a one day intensive seminar for contractors, architects, or owners interested in learning more about construction using insulating concrete form (ICF) systems.

Currently classes are offered in the Sacramento, California area.

The Course

Classes provide a mixture of instructor-led class room presentations and discussions, and also hands-on demonstration of the basics of all construction, electrical and plumbing installation, interior and exterior finishes, environmental benefits, energy savings, and value & safety. While AMVIC ICF is the primary focus of the class, much of the information provided is generalized and the course content is largely applicable to all brands of ICF block construction.

With completion of the course, an attendee will have been exposed to all of the basic requirements & skills needed to build a typical 1-4 story residence or light commercial structure.

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for the course, however, a basic familiarity with construction practices and terms will assure receiving maximum benefit from the course.

• Tools required
• Footing Types and Preparation
• Foundation reinforcing steel layout
• Basics of block installation and assembly
• Rebar installation
• Window and door openings – alternatives and practices
• Top plate/sill & truss/rafter installation
• Alignment bracing and pouring ICF walls
• Elevated ICF concrete floor, deck and roof systems
• Below grade installation and waterproofing
• Multi-Story Applications
• Interior and Exterior Wall Finishes
• Basic estimating

All classes run from 8:30-4:30

Price:

$85 for one person, $160 for two persons from same company/family/group.

Included: Technical manual, training guide, refreshments and on site lunch.
All classes are from 9:00am – 4:30pm. Coffee ready by 8:30.

Directions:

From I-80 take State Route 65 North

Exit onto Blue Oaks Blvd West and cross over the freeway

Turn Right at the first road. Sign says “Allentown to Industrial”

At the stop, turn right onto Industrial Ave.

The PCCA building is 10656 ¼ mile on the right.
